ACTFEST 2k24

The Department of English at SRM Trichy Arts and Science College hosted ACTFEST 2k24, an Interdepartmental Dramatics Competition that showcased the creative talents of students across various disciplines. The performances, which drew from scripts in the TANSCHE Syllabus for English, exemplified the diverse storytelling abilities of the participants.

Ms. T Dhivyalakshmi, the Convener, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while Co-convener Ms. K. Kayathri and Dr. Ethina, the Course Coordinator of English, played key roles in coordinating and introducing the theme of ACTFEST 2k24, respectively. The judging panel included esteemed figures such as Dr. Vinod Kumar, Professor and Head of the Department of English and Dean of the Faculty of Languages at Bharathidasan University, and Dr. Anbazhagan, Dean of Students Welfare at SRM Group of Institutions, whose presence added to the atmosphere of enthusiasm and camaraderie among the departments.

The Department of Bachelor of Business Administration emerged as the Overall Winners, with the Department of Bachelor of Commerce and Computer Application securing the runner-up position. Ms. Lavanya S, I B.Com C.A, was honored with the Best Actor award for her exceptional acting skills. Mr. Lingesh, the President of the Utopian English Literary Association, delivered the vote of thanks.

The chief guests presented awards to the winners of the English Speaking Zone series, a segment coordinated by Dr. T. Gnanasekaran. Additionally, “Poetica,” an exclusive anthology of poems crafted by the students of SRM Trichy Arts and Science College, was unveiled during the event.

ACTFEST 2k24 not only celebrated the art of drama but also fostered stronger interdepartmental relationships, making it a memorable highlight of the academic year.
