On September 27, 2024, the C.K. Prahalad Management Association, Department of Management Studies, SRM Trichy Arts and Science College, hosted a guest lecture titled “Unlocking Financial Success: The Role of Accounting Skills and Knowledge in Your Professional Journey.” The event aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the importance of accounting skills in their professional journeys.

Dr. G. Senthilkumar, the Principal, along with Dr. G. Ilango, Vice-Principal (Administration), and Dr. S. Fabiyola Kavitha, Vice-Principal (Academic), opened the session with a felicitation address.

Dr. C. Rajagopal, Chartered Accountant at C.R. & Company, Thanjavur, acted as a resource person and delivered an engaging presentation that covered:

The significance of accounting skills during academic studies. Effective preparation strategies for accounting examinations. Strategies to manage the fear associated with competitive exams such as CA and CMA. A list of subjects in the Chartered Accountant curriculum and the eligibility criteria for commerce and non-commerce students, as well as scholarships for the CA course. Career opportunities for Chartered Accountants both domestically and in foreign countries, highlighting the global demand for accounting professionals. Potential earnings after completing the CA. Ways to prepare for and apply to the CA course. The session was well-attended, with approximately 92 BBA students and 20 students from B.Com. and B.Com. (CA) participating actively. Students engaged in a lively Q&A, where Dr. Rajagopal thoroughly addressed their queries. Mr. V. Stalin, Assistant Professor and convenor of the guest lecture, ensured that all necessary arrangements were in place, while Dr. R. Selvakumari, Head of the Department, provided invaluable support throughout the session, concluding it on a positive note.
