GUEST LECTURE ON UNEARTHING THE VOICE AND IDENTITY – A POSTCOLONIAL RACISM
The Department of English, SRMTASC, organized a Guest Lecture titled Unearthing the Voice and identity – A postcolonial Racism on 6th January 2023 at 1.45 PM in LH-11 The resource person for the program was Dr. S. Melwin, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Bishop Heber College, Trichy. Mr. Sivakumar of III B.A English welcomed the gathering. Dr. Francis Xavier Christopher, Principal, SRMTASC delivered the presidential address and highlighted the importance of language flavour among the students. Dr. G. Ilango, Vice-Principal(Academic) and Dr. S. Lawrence Leve (Admin) felicitated the gathering.
Resource Person delivered the keynote address on the importance of Identity and Unearthing voices in the postcolonial racism. He spoke about division among the countries and colonial before and after independence.
There was an interaction with students and asking few questions about the Postcolonial and Post-Colonial. Dr.R. Karthick Babu, Associate Professor, Department of English addressed the gathering. Dr. V. Vishnu Vardhan, Assistant Professor, Department of English arranged the necessary things to this program.
The program was handled for the Final Year B.A English Students of the Institution. Finally, Ms. Humaidha, of III B. A English delivered vote of thanks. The program ends with National Anthem.
The primary focus of the program involved technicalities in opening a blog-site for oneself and the ways in which one can resolve issues in basic and advanced writing. Factors involved in managing blogs, such as using catchy titles, avoiding grammatical errors and monetization of content, were dealt with in the program. Around thirty-five students from various departments participated in the program. Ten of them vowed to start a blog for themselves with the assistance of the resource person.
