The Art of Formal Writing

The Department of English organized a workshop on the Art of Formal writing. The program was conducted exclusively for the second-year and Third-year students of SRM Trichy Arts and Science College. The workshop was scheduled on 21st July 2023 between 11.00 A.M. and 12.45 P.M. at Seminar Hall, SRM Trichy Arts and Science. Our Principal, Dr. D. Francis Xavier Christopher, Vice-Principal (Academic), and the Vice-Principal (Administration), Dr. G. Ilango, presided over the workshop. The Principal appreciated and encouraged the innovative ideas initiated by the department for the welfare of the students. The Vice Principal (Administration) presented an introductory note

The session was then taken over by the Co-convenor & the Facilitator, Ms. T. Dhivyalakshmi Assistant Professor of English. She spoke on the topic of the Art of Formal writing. She also concentrated more on Formal letter writing in English. The next session was handed over to the Convenor & the Resource person Ms. K. Ponni, Assistant Professor of English, by discussing business letter writing and the importance of writing letters. She concluded the session by giving some activities related to Business letter writing to the students. Holistically, the students were excited and satisfied with their participation in the workshop.
